Our topic this week is one that most people don’t think about or at least don’t relate it to finances and that is MINDSET.
I could simply say our mindset is a huge key in EVERYTHING we do and move on because that is true but we will spend a little time diving into this. You’ve probably heard things like “you get what you focus on” or “you see what you want to see”, at first I thought this was just something the personal growth guru’s told you to sound good but I can honestly say I have personally found it to be TRUE! (A quick rabbit trail…I would strongly suggest you do a Vision Board! Oh the personal stories I could tell you about THAT but in order to keep this from getting lengthy I’ll just say…PM me if you want info on that)
Our minds are trained to show us or validate our thinking. When we think and speak negative then that’s what we start to see all around us. We find proof to back up our thinking SO with that in mind why not think and speak POSITIVE so that you can start to see POSITIVE RESULTS?
Rather than think/say “I’m not good with money” or “I’ll never get out of this mess” think/say something like “I AM good with money” “I can be/will be a good money manager” “I will work hard, stay focused and get myself out of this mess”. As your mindset changes, your words will change, your actions will change and thus your RESULTS WILL CHANGE!
Practice gratitude-instead of “I have to pay the electric bill” replace it with “I get to pay the electric bill” or “I’m thankful I have the money to pay the electric bill” and then start thinking of all the ways you use electricity. I don’t know about you but I am very thankful for heat, air conditioning, lights, hot water, a working refrigerator, a working stove to cook on, etc. As you dwell on gratitude – again your thoughts will change, your words will change, your actions will change and your RESULTS WILL CHANGE.
We all struggle at times, we all get down in the dumps or down on ourself at times but don’t stay there. Be mindful of the thoughts you think, of the words you say, of your reaction and response when things happen. You may have to start by doing it 10 minutes a time and work your way up but if you want your results to change…your mindset is key.
